Dross Cooling Drum

A cooling drum for reducing the temperature of processed dross before screening, storage or bagging.

Process role
#

The cooling drum follows molten-metal separation. It tumbles the remaining dross while a controlled external cooling arrangement prepares the material for screening, storage or bagging.

Operating sequence
#

  1. Receive the remaining dross after molten-metal separation and control the feed transition.
  2. Continuously tumble the material through drum rotation to support uniform cooling.
  3. Apply controlled external cooling separated from the material, with water collection and recirculation configured to the project.
  4. Discharge the cooled material to screening, storage or bagging.

Key technical data

Cooling pathDrum tumbling with external cooling; spray, water collection and recirculation are configured to site conditions.
Line interfacesFeed method, discharge elevation and connections to screening, conveying or collection equipment follow the complete line layout.

Configurable scope
#

  • External spray, water collection and recirculation arrangement
  • Infeed, discharge conveying and level transitions
  • Enclosure, fume-extraction connections and guarding

Information required for selection
#

  • Inlet temperature range, batch condition and operating duty
  • Required discharge condition or downstream screening and bagging needs
  • Cooling-water source, quality, drainage and recirculation conditions
  • Installation space, foundations, elevations and maintenance access
