An automated conveying, alignment and stacking system for long aluminum billets after sawing.
Process role#
The long billet stacking system connects saw discharge with bundle handling. Counting, gripping, lifting and horizontal transfer organize the billets for stacking, while end alignment and a forming frame define the bundle arrangement. The gripping method and stack pattern are selected for billet diameter, finished length and bundle requirements.
Operating sequence#
- Receive sawn long billets in the specified group size.
- Grip, lift and transfer the group to the stacking position.
- Combine end alignment with the forming frame to build the required stack.
Key technical data#
| Stack design | Group size, layer pattern and forming-frame adjustment are defined for the billets and handling method. |
|---|---|
| Line interfaces | The layout coordinates saw discharge, the end-alignment position and space for downstream bundle transfer. |
Information required for selection#
- Billet diameter, finished length, straightness and surface-protection requirements
- Billets per layer, layer count, required bundle shape and bundle mass
- Saw discharge rhythm, conveyor elevation and available stacking space
- Strapping, weighing or transfer method after stack formation
